WHAT IS PARISH LIFE? Parish Life ensures the success of the many wonderful fellowship activities that enrich our life at Emmanuel. It provides for our Sunday morning coffee hours; the many luncheons, dinners, and receptions held throughout the year; the refreshments that accompany our Interfaith Bible Study sessions and our public concert series, church picnics, dinners and our annual family festival, Oktoberfest. Dates and times of all these events are listed each month in our on-line calendar.

Helen Cawley coordinates our coffee hour volunteers -- and many hands make light work! So if you'd like the opportunity to help with this vital part of fellowship with our worship community, please contact Helen through the church office, at 301-365-5733.

FELLOWSHIP TOGETHER --

This is the 2nd year of ELC’s Dinner Club! This is the perfect opportunity to get to know fellow adult members of ELC in a small group setting and enjoy fine dining at the same time!

The Dinner Club is for all adults of any age whether you are single, married, divorced, or widowed. Dinner Club runs every other month from November to May. The first dinner in members' homes, is Saturday, November 10. We will meet in groups of 6 or 8. Each “host” provides the dinner theme, main course, and beverages. Each “guest” brings a portion of the meal – appetizer, salad, bread, vegetable, or dessert. The Dinner Club Coordinator (Brigid Hastings) makes out the assignments where you go for dinner and the “host” will tell the others what you will bring to the dinner (appetizer, etc.). Every other month you have dinner at a dif ferent home with a different group of people. In May, we will gather as an entire group for the finale dinner of the season.

Everyone is encouraged to host at least one dinner per season. Please keep in mind that these dinners don’t require a formal dining room or fancy china.

EMMANUEL'S 45TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: Emmanuel's 45th anniversary celebration was a wonderful look back at 45 years of history -- and a look forward at what we can be in the next half century! Bob Weise and Jeanne and Harold Timken, charter members of Emmanuel, served as honorary chairs for the luncheon following the late service on February 11, 2007.
