Throughout the year, Emmanuel organizes and sponsors various activities that benefit people in our community, region, and nation, and throughout the world. We invite you to join our committee and help us with one project or many. Contact Ginger Boone at info@elcbethesda.org.

School’s out!! …. Food Shopping Time!
MANNA Food Summer collection – Give beyond Emmanuel’s Walls

Many of our area students in schools qualify for free or reduced-price meals (FARMS) at school. So who feeds these kids breakfast and lunch during the summer? There's not much room in their parents' budgets for extra food expenses. So, their families turn to places like the MANNA Food Center to make up the difference. Not surprisingly, MANNA gets its highest demand during June, July, and August.

That means it's time for churches like Emmanuel to step in and keep MANNA's shelves full. For that reason, we keep collecting food in the narthex on every Sunday. We make periodic deliveries to MANNA during the summer - to keep low-income county kids (and low-income folks generally) fed.

Care to help? Please bring some items from the list below to church with you this summer as part of your offering.

Rice – Beans - Pasta
Canned Meats/Tuna Fish
Spaghetti Sauce
Canned Fruit and Vegetables
Shelf-Stable Milk
Baby Formula/Baby Food
Peanut Butter

Mission Endowment
Contributions to the mission endowment fund provide another way to support the work of the church. Learn how this fund provides additional financial support for local community projects, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) mission work, and capital improvements for our church facility.

Missionary Sponsorship
Members of Emmanuel sponsor a Lutheran missionary family through ELCA's Division for Global Mission.

National Lutheran Home
In addition to the Outreach Committee activities, others at Emmanuel serve the community in various ways. For example, Emmanuel members organize visits and parties, serve residents, assist staff, and participate in fundraisers at the National Lutheran Home.
