National Lutheran Home

National Lutheran Home (NLH) is a full-service Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Rockville, MD. that provides a wide range of care requirements, from fully independent living to skilled nursing care. Members of Emmanuel serve on the Executive Board
and Board of Managers of the NLH, participate as members of the NLH Auxiliary, and help at the Spring and Fall festivals. In addition, Emmanuel has an active group of volunteers who assist the residents in a variety of ways.

During the past year Emmanuel volunteers have:

Hosted monthly birthday parties on the third floor and a Bingo party
Served as "Holy Rollers, taking residents to worship services, or as escorts to take them to clinics, physical therapy, or the beauty parlor
Led recreational therapy and challenge games; guided discussion groups;
provided dental services
Served as a "Pal" to a resident, visiting at least monthly; or as a "Special Visitor", visiting weekly
