EvangelismEvangelism – telling the good news of the Gospel – is getting renewed emphasis at Emmanuel There is probably nothing more important to the life of the congregation than reaching out to new members and longstanding congregants alike, sharing the good news and joy of Christ’s teachings in a variety of formats. It happens not only during worship but also during coffee hour between services, Bible study, fellowship groups and other settings The Bible calls on all of us to be evangelists and it is the goal of the evangelism committee to encourage every member to reach out to other members of the congregation and those in the community who may not have a church home. The evangelism committee’s most recent initiatives have included procurement of a banner placed in front of the church throughout Advent, inviting the community to join us for worship, a new members’ dinner in November and renewed efforts to develop a Sunday morning greeters program, and to establish a program of sponsors for each new member to better introduce them to the life of the church. The evangelism committee welcomes the participation of all members of Emmanuel. If you are interested in knowing more about how you can participate in this important mission of the church, please contact evangelism committee members Chris Mondics, Deborah Kalas, or Kurt Einwaechter.
