RALLY DAY - September 12, 2010 -10 a.m.

It’s a Rally!!!

We will kick of the Sunday School year with a Rally. Our kick-off party’s theme is a Race Car Rally, so everyone is invited to wear something that reflects our theme. We will have games, crafts, and other exciting things to do as well as meet our Sunday School teachers. After the second worship service we will continue our Rally Day theme with a picnic that will have games and a moon bounce.

We will start the regular Sunday School schedule on September 12th at 10 a.m. in the Atrium with a kick-off party. Please register your child for Sunday School. Besides the kick-off party, the children will meet their teachers and see their classrooms.

Sunday School - 10 a.m. in the Atrium and Classrooms

The pre-K to sixth grade Sunday School classes will meet in the Atrium at 10 a.m. with opening songs and prayers. The seventh and eighth grade classes will meet in room 11 and “Grabble” with today’s issues through the lens of the Bible. The High School class will meet in the youth room and begin a study using movies, contemporary music and TV shows.

Bible Study - 10 a.m. in the Parlor

The Adult Bible Study will begin on September 12th during the Sunday School hour. You are welcome to join them anytime. Grab your cup of coffee and bring a Bible.

Adult Forum - 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall

The Adult Forum is an opportunity to have a Christian discussion on the issues of the day. All are invited.

The Christian Education program at Emmanuel provides educational programs for both children and adults. We have a variety of opportunities for every need and we illustrate education in all its forms, from hands-on learning to intentional study. Sunday morning programs are available for children through adults at 10:00 a.m. Join us to learn more about our Sunday School for youngsters, youth (grades 7-12) and adults.

Sunday School for children from pre-school through High School meets from 10:00-10:50 every Sunday morning. There are Sunday morning classes for adults as well.

Visit the Adult Programs of our website to learn about weekday, evening and Sunday morning Bible study and discussion groups. Joint worship services and study programs are held with Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Potomac. Pastor Lookingbill and Rabbi Leonard Cahan of Temple Har Shalom in Potomac are continuing to lead a joint interfaith study on a topic of interest to both our faiths.

Our two-year Confirmation Program is taught by Pastors Lookingbill and Lewis and includes opportunities for community service and fellowship.
